The problem with old friends - We joked that the emphasis was on the "old" - is that they eventually head west.
I liked Harry Gunther. He was always nice to me and an affable sort. He could engage in spirited debate at times. Harry was a retired machinist and flew as a crewmember in the Navy version of the B-24 during the unpleasantness of the 1940s.
